Dear York Catholic District School Board Families,
The Weather Network forecasts that the temperature tomorrow morning will be -20 degrees Celsius, with wind chills approaching -30 degrees Celsius. York Region Public Health has issued an Extreme Cold Weather Warning, which is expected to remain in effect until Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Student transportation will be running tomorrow morning, but delays are possible as some buses may have difficulties turning on in these temperatures. You can monitor late bus alerts on the Student Transportation Services of York Region website by clicking here.
On www.ycdsb.ca and all school websites, there is also information about school routines during extreme cold weather, tips for dressing for these temperatures, and a link to the York Region Public Health webpage, which has health information on extreme cold. You can find that information by clicking here.
We hope these resources will help you prepare for tomorrow’s weather. During this cold weather, let us remember in our prayers those who do not have a home.
Yours in Catholic Education,
York Catholic District School Board
